East Meon
East Meon will astonish you with its prettiness. It is about four and a half miles from Petersfield, and an essential stop on any sightseeing itinerary. The village dates from the bronze age, and appeared in the Domesday Book.
Start at All Saints Church, a wonderful example of Norman architecture. Stepping out of the church you will see tne many different archictural styles in the village, from medaeival to Georgian. Then after all that culture it's just a few steps to the Ye Olde George Inn.
Stroll along the High Street, with the River Meon to your left, and you are soon at the Izaak Walton pub.
